Our laptop stopped operating one evening - just up and quit. Made an appointment with Doctor Dave - he quickly diagnosed the problem, and offered what he could do to us to fix it - basically the hard drive was malfunctioning. When we got back from a trip we found to our dismay that one of our computers was completely dead and would not turn on at all. After some research we called Dr. Dave. Although he didn't answer, since it was on the weekend in the evening, he did call us back promptly. By the time he called we had already determined that the mother board was most likely fried from a storm and we would be replacing the whole computer. My external hard drive crashed and I lost everything, not the least of which being my design portfolio. Doctor Dave saved the day! We run a small business and I was freaking out our working computer would not boot. I gave Doctor Dave a call to see how soon he could get us in. Sometimes I just can't figure out how to get our computers to work properly. We are a multiple mac and pc home, so sometimes we have issues. Dr. Dave has been a lifesaver for us and our friends and family many times. The nice thing about Dave, is that he can help absolute beginners or those of us who still have fond memories of our Commodore 64's. If you're looking to buy your first computer--or--you're ready to throw yours out the window, call Dave, any time and he'll work with you. He can advise you on how to work with the company who sold you your computer--Dell, Apple, you name it, AND he's got the experience and knowledge to get you back online. Amazingly enough, he does really make mouse calls, or you can go to his office--he's super flexible and always, always cheerful and calm, even when you're freaking out.

When my PC died, I decided I wanted a Mac. He knew people at the Apple store and got me to the right person. He then transfferred my data to my Mac and set it up. Ironic because while setting up my Mac, he fixed my PC. I like the fact the charges are based on the hour, because while waiting for the data to transfer he setup my Wii and Tivo on the Internet and developed a backup strategy for me. All within an hour and a half. Best use of a Benjamin ever.

Dave and his techs are outstanding. I had an iMac that was going to cost several hundred dollars to fix after going to the Apple store. Dave was able to repair that old machine for much less (all it needed was a new hard drive). However I decided in the meantime to buy a Macbook, since I thought that old system was a goner. Another one of his techs networked my Macbook and iMac so they could share a printer and iTunes libraries. Setting up the wireless was beyond my skills and those AT&T people were of no help...they simply cannot be understood! Now that I'm all up and running...I don't hope to see these guys until I get a new computer years and years later.

Dr. Dave is, hands down, the best tech person I have ever encountered. He swoops in, saves the day, and bounds off with a smile. First, he knows his stuff. Second, anything he doesn't know off the top of his head, he researches and gets back to you. Third, he is completely honest about what the problem is and the chances of fixing it and the cost of fixing it. Fourth, he is RELIABLE -- returns phone calls and emails, shows up when he says he will. Fifth, goes out of his way to be helpful. He has given me recommendations about hardware and software and eagerly shares tips and tricks to make my computer life easier. My hard drive crashed on my macbook and he was going to try to do some data recovery on it. I went to his office and he tired for about 20 minutes to get my data off, but the hard drive wouldn't even mount, so I lost everything. He didn't charge me anything for trying. I could see that it just wasn't going to happen. He was very kind, even in giving the bad news. I would highly recommend him for his professionalism and kindness.

Dave helped me evaluate my dying iMac and determine whether it was worth trying to salvage. He was honest about the cost of any new systems, helped me get all of the information off the dying hard drive, and even worked on a few problem with my mobile me account while he waited for data to transfer. All of this for a very reasonable rate and right here in my home. The first appointment was not only on a weekend, it was the afternoon of Mother's Day, and it was still no extra charge! I have known Dave for a number of years--- even before I needed computer services. But when the time came, he was the first and only choice. There is no such thing as bad service or money that is not well spent when Dr Dave is on the case. Solutions--not excuses. You will find ONLY ONE negative review on this site and I would be willing to bet that it was posted by a competitor that wants to be like Dave. There has never been an occasion when I did not receive a reply in a reasonable amount of time. Missed appointment? Pfffft! Never happens. Thank you Dave! Was having an issue with my PC, spoke with the maker (HP) and my antivirus (webroot), they both told me it was a problem with Windows 7. Webroot was willing to send out one of 'their' guys for a sizable fee to basically uninstall windows 7 and reinstall, potentially losing any unsaved data. I elected to give Dr. Dave a try instead. It turned out to not be an easy fix, took some time to diagnose, but eventually he determined that it was actually Webroot causing problems at startup. Anyway, he got me fixed up, and even sold me a large external hard drive and helped me back up all of my data, and set an automatic backup schedule as well. And he sold me the hard drive at a considerable discount, as he had purchased it at a cheap price before a recent price jump. Very moral thing to do. Long story short, Dr. Dave rocks!

My computer was constantly giving me the blue screen of death. I was fortunate enough to be able to perform a full back-up, then took it to Dr. Dave. After examining the machine, they did a complete hard drive wipe, then reinstalled programs so all I had to do was recapture my backup. Now it works perfectly! The turnaround was very fast, and the fee was incredibly reasonable. Great people, great work. I highly recommend this company!

It's been a rough year, so when technology challenges were added to the mix... argh! DoctorDave has been my super hero. Patient and compassionate, as well as knowledgeable and skillful. A few months ago when my Mac laptop temporarily died, Dave worked hard to diagnose, then to capture and transfer documents to a new hard drive. (With a gentle reminder that I really needed regular backup, which I now have.) And he sent me, with discount coupon in hand, to MissionRepair for a part that they stock and could quickly install. This week when my Mac laptop went offline, and my husband did all the sleuthing he could, Dave determined the solution, a new router that he could not sell to us, but he told me some places that could. And he refused any payment for the time spent in the multiple communications with me which lead us to the solution. I can't say enough good things about DoctorDave. So I guess I'll stop here :-)

I called Doctor Dave for the first time about a year and a half ago. He came to our home, was very polite, and proceeded to work on my desktop computer. He not only worked on my desktop, but my laptop at the same time. Dave also took notes on each computer so that he could keep record of what he had fixed on each computer so when I called again, he would know what he had done on both computers. Dave was AMAZING. He worked on BOTH computers at the SAME time, while also taking notes. I have not had a problem with my computers again until today. I emailed Dave today, and described what issues I was having with my computer and asked for an opinion on what I should do. Dave responded today, the same day I emailed him, and he told me what to try and.....SUCCESS!! Rather than saying, 'I need to look at your computer to determine what is wrong, he gave me FREE ADVICE, and I was able to fix my computer without delay and extra expenses. Dr Dave came from Lawrence to Topeka to help me with my computer problems. He is a really great guy and I would recommend him whole heartedly. He solved all of my problems. Recently when I needed a new external hard drive I talked to him on the phone and he told me the type to buy and where to order it. It was a perfect recommendation for me. He offered to help me install it over the phone but it was so easy to install that I was able to do it myself. I offered to pay him for talking to me on the phone and giving me the recommendation but he would not charge me. I would definitely give him the highest rating!!
